This course will explore the spirituality of St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane de Chantal: devotion, virtues, discernment, prayer, and friendship. Salesian approaches to leadership and ministry are woven throughout the course. Participants will learn in seminar format, employing both lecture and discussion. Texts include Introduction to the Devout Life and other selected readings, and a biography of St. Francis de Sales. Course may be audited or taken for credit. Students taking the course for credit will write a paper on a Salesian topic of their choice.
