Discernment Advice
Discernment is a method to help a person understand the direction that God is leading his life. Sometimes, discernment can feel like we are grabbing smoke, for direct, voice-contact with God is not possible, save the rare saintly exception. It is often helpful for us to have a way to "figure out" just how we come to know and feel the urgings of God in our life. Discernment in the Christian tradition is one way. The articles that you will find here will help you pay attention more deeply to God's push and pull of your heart. It is a sound suggestion to offer a brief prayer before and after you read the article. Something as simple as "Lord, open my eyes to see you and my heart to feel you." You could make up your own, of course.
