General Chapter Elects Superior General and Council
This week, the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales General Chapter met to discern congregational leadership in Annecy, France. Most Rev. Barry Strong, OSFS, was re-elected Superior General for a second term. In this capacity, he leads our congregation of almost 400 priests and brothers in 18 countries. Rev. Strong was elected to a six-year term.
Guillaume Kambounon (France-West African Province), Bijesh Thomas (Indian Region), and Paulo Rodrigues dos Santos (South America-Carribean Province) were elected as General Councilors.
The North American Provinces congratulate Most Rev. Barry Strong, OSFS, a member of the Wilmington-Philadelphia Province, and the Council. We assure them of our fraternal and prayerful support as they continue their ministry and service to our brothers around the world. Please join us in praying for our congregation as we continue the work of St. Francis de Sales.
