In Our Students' Words...

At many Oblate school Masses, a student is invited to share a reflection. These reflections inspire both fellow students and staff who hear them and serve as a testimony of Salesian Spirituality. Some of the reflections are featured here to reach a broader Salesian audience.

Below you will find excerpts from a few of the Student Reflections from the 2024/2025 school year. You can enjoy these reflections in full by following the “Read More” links and read other Student Reflections by visiting the website's education page here.

As we celebrate Catholic Schools Week, we are proud to feature these young men who understand the call to be a Salesian gentlemen and so willing to share their faith journeys with their classmates.

Be sure to stay tuned, as the school year continues, more will be added!

The Value of Service
Patrick Williams
Salesianum School 2025

Recently we performed our week of service at Urban Promise in Wilmington, DE. Urban Promise is a school in the city that provides kids with the skills necessary to achieve academic success and grow personally and in leadership. Mass of the Holy Spirit
Nicholas Przychodzien ‘25
Father Judge High School

We were presented with a chance to attend Salesian Leadership Camp (SLC) out in Brooklyn Michigan. Out there at SLC, we got to meet other students from all over the country, despite being from all over and having some differences amongst each other, we all had one thing in common, that is our understanding of Salesian values.

Each day at camp we grew our Salesian values through group discussions, presentations, and daily Mass. From these activities, we all learned about how to be better Salesians in our personal lives and our roles in our respective schools. SLC did not just focus purely on Salesian Spirituality; it also emphasized how to develop and use leadership skills. Through team building exercises, such as the trust fall, crucial leadership qualities were revealed, like having faith in one another, proper communication, and most importantly trust in one another. In summary, SLC was a wonderful experience, where everyone present could build bonds with each other based on the common factor of Salesian Spirituality, deepen their understanding of the Salesian virtues, and learn as well as grow in leadership…Read More
